袁隆平(1930—2021)是杂交水稻育种专家与中国工程院院士,在三系杂交稻、两系法与超级杂交稻研究中承担重要组织和技术工作。杂交水稻成果由亲本材料、团队试验、制种体系、农技推广与多地环境共同形成,不能缩写成一个人独自发明一粒‘万能种子’。

Yuan Longping (1930–2021) was a hybrid-rice breeder and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering who played major organizational and technical roles in three-line hybrid rice, two-line methods and super-hybrid-rice research. Hybrid-rice outcomes depend on parental materials, team trials, seed-production systems, agricultural extension and varied environments; they cannot be reduced to one person inventing a universal seed.

Hybrid rice continues to be researched and deployed across ecosystems, varieties, pest pressures, climates, soils and production systems. The achievement is a chain from traditional textual inspiration to modern experimental and clinical evidence.
